Kaoko Cruise Control, mechanical cruise control, for BMW R1200GS/ Adventure (2008-2012)

The original by the South African inventor!

The Kaoko Cruise control replaces the original handlebar end weights.
 
The anti-slip knurled screw secures the accelerator in position.
 
This significantly reduces the strain on the right hand during long journeys.
 
Thanks to the continuous adjustment, the accelerator can also be fixed to decelerate very gently - leaving you enough time to take your hand off the handlebar for a moment without immediately losing throttle.
 
Despite that, the motorbike decelerates in a gentle and controlled way.
 
(Note: please check your OEM Bar End Weight central retaining bolt prior to ordering. If 80mm long part CCF400-08 is required. If 90mm long part CCF400 is required).

    Simple to install and simple to operate. Took 5 minutes max. Works as described - technically not a cruise control but a throttle lock, but thats what I expected. Works well on this bike with less variance of speed on revs (some sport bikes are a challenge to use with throttle lock devices as their speed changes very noticably on slight change, so hard to get constant, whereas the r1200 not really a problem).
    Not sure I'd use it all the time, but its fantastic for long trips especially to give the right hand a rest ...

    Following Spiro's of Cruising Bikers, I bought the BMW R1200GSA Kaoko cruise control.
    One screw removed on the existing bar end, swap the bar end with the Kaoko, and replace the screw. 30 seconds!
    The Kaoko is simplicity itself to use, being essentially a friction lock. I like how well placed it is - clear of any risk of inadvertent application, yet very accessible when required.
